"Worst Picture of 2009"
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
"Worst Director"
Michael Bay
Those are just two of the three awards given to Transformers at the 30th Annual Razzie Awards. I know a lot of people look at these words in sheer confusion, but I really do agree. Sure, Transformers 2 was an awesome movie, but "awesome" does not always translate to "good". Nobody in their right mind would say the film had a noteworthy plot, and the character development, if any, was either nonexistent or comically shallow. I am not saying that people are wrong for enjoying the movie because I am one of them. Transformers does it for the thrill not for substance. It didn't need to be well written or thought out to accomplish what it wanted to accomplish. Still, it was a fundamentally bad movie. Think of it as the "God of War" of film; Sure it's fun, but there really isn't much beneath the surface.
Doing it for the thrill,
